Aymara Ecolodge sits in Challapampa, on the quiet northern side of Isla del Sol — away from the island's busier southern routes. The lodge is guided by two generations of the same family: Francisco Ticona, a licensed tour guide with more than twenty years hosting international travelers on the island, and his son Gustavo, who runs the lodge day to day.

Gustavo is a very friendly and hostile owner. The house is nice and cosy. You have everything what you need and even more if you ask (e.g. laundry for extra $$).
His father Franco is a pro guide. So you can order a tour just here.

Good view on the lake from the window is a bonus.

Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous stay at Gustavo's, who went out of his way to make us as comfortable as possible. His little chalet is very cozy with a magnificent view. We stayed for two nights but could have easily stayed much longer, it was so rejuvenating.

Gustavo has a beautiful and incredibly cozy cabin, and he tries his best to make you feel as comfortable as possible. The breakfast is delicious, and you sleep wonderfully because the island is so peaceful and the beds are comfortable. His father, Franco, explains the island's history in an amazing way and is also incredibly kind. They are all so friendly and make you feel great. And the views you wake up to are simply unbeatable. We highly recommend it!

Put simply, this is the place you want to stay on Isla del Sol. The views are stunning. The hosts are wonderful and extremely helpful. The beds are comfortable. You are in the middle of the most beautiful part of the island. You could spend a month here and still want more…

NOTE: I gave the same review as for Inti Wata (which is located just a few steps down the hill and owned by the same wonderful local family). We ended up at the Ecolodge Aymara when we needed more space, and were so fortunate that Gustavo was able to accommodate us!
